Based on preliminary field assessment for the mayoral elections in Mitrovicë, north on Sunday 23, all security providers, Kosovo Police (KP) as first, EULEX and KFOR as second and third responders, have professionally fulfilled their tasks and contributed towards a peaceful environment during the electoral process.

"I am very pleased that the mayoral elections were held in an orderly fashion without any incidents. I want to highlight the professional stance of KP, and reiterate the excellent coordination between EULEX, KP, KFOR and OSCE", said Joelle Vachter, the Acting EULEX Head of Mission.
