The National News Agency NOA is, for the second consecutive year, among the main official media partners of the Adria Future Summit
The Adria Future Summit has confirmed that John Jovanovic, President and Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM), will feature as a headline speaker at its 2026 gathering, bringing the full weight of US institutional capital and strategic intent to the region’s premier investment forum.
Chairman Jovanovic’s participation signals a strong and growing commitment from the United States to backing the economic development, energy security, and infrastructure modernisation of the Western Balkans.
As the official export credit agency of the US government, EXIM Bank plays a critical role in facilitating international trade and unlocking capital for large-scale strategic projects. His contribution to the Summit will explore how Washington views the strategic importance of the region, and how EXIM’s financial tools, including direct loans and guarantees, can de-risk major investments in next-generation energy, LNG, and digital infrastructure.
His participation comes at a defining moment for Montenegro and the wider Adria region. Positioned as Europe’s southern frontier, the region is accelerating its European Union integration while simultaneously seeking to attract global capital to leapfrog legacy infrastructure and build next-generation energy and digital systems.
“We are honoured to welcome Chairman Jovanovic to the Adria Future Summit,” said Biljana Braithwaite, Director and Founder of the Adria Future Summit. “Having the leadership of the US EXIM Bank at the Summit underscores the geopolitical and economic weight of this moment for the region. It sends a clear message to the global investor community: the Western Balkans is open for business, backed by serious institutional capital, and ready to execute on strategic infrastructure and energy transition projects.”
Drawing on his extensive background in private sector energy investment and his previous role as Regional Head for the Western Balkans at the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Chairman Jovanovic will also address the practicalities of deployment. His insights will focus on what governments must do to unlock US private investment at scale, moving from memorandums of understanding to execution.
