The State Oil Company (SOCAR) is expected to hold presentation of a master plan on the creation of the gas market in Albania.

The Ministry of Energy of Albania reports that the plan is prepared in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the governments of Azerbaijan and Albania.

In case this plan is adopted, then the feasibility study of the project of gasification of Albania, designed to create a gas market in this country virtually from scratch, can be presented by October 2016.

SOCAR will get access to Albania due to pipeline project TAP (Trans Adriatic Pipeline). The construction of TAP will be officially launched on 17 May.
