Prishtina, July 14, 2015 NOA.al – First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has received today his Greek counterpart, Nikolaos Kotzias. They discussed cooperation between the two countries, Kosovo’s European perspective and Greece’s support for Kosovo’s membership in international organizations, as well as the swift opening of the Kosovo Office in Athens. They also discussed good neighborly relations in the region, the dialogue with Serbia and relations with the European Union.
“Kosovo is already well consolidated as a state and has established very good relations with neighboring countries in the region. We expect soon to sign the Stabilization and Association Agreement and obtain positive recommendations for visa liberalization. Globally, Kosovo continues to be an active member of the global coalition against terrorism and violent extremism,” Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi said.
Thaçi and Kotzias also discussed bilateral relations. Greece has been represented by ambassadors who have contributed and continue to do so in Kosovo. “Greece has supported and will continue to support Kosovo’s membership in regional and international organizations,” Kotzias said.
According to the Greek Foreign Minister, the opening of the Kosovo Office in Athens may be swiftly finalized so that Kosovo and Greece can also enhance their economic cooperation.
