The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, met today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Bert Koenders, with whom he discussed the developments in Kosovo and the region as well as opportunities to further deepen cooperation between the two countries.

Thaçi and Koenders emphasized that Kosovo and the Netherlands have very good bilateral relations and have no open issues between them.

Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi said that Kosovo is now consolidated internally and externally and is a factor of peace and cooperation in the region.

"The whole region is oriented towards the Euro-Atlantic future, focused on development and cooperation. At this turning point for the region, it is very important that the EU remains committed to the European future of the entire region," Thaçi said.

Both agreed that the long-term stability in the region requires sustainable economic development and that the support of EU members states, including their experience, is of crucial importance for the Western Balkan countries.

Deputy Prime Minister Thaçi is on an official visit to The Hague, where he is attending the conference on cyberspace security.
