Prishtinë, January 17, 2014 NOA.al – The Government of the Republic of Kosovo stresses that it is determined to use all its institutional capacities to continue its commitment to fully operationalize democratic institutions elected by the citizens of the northern part of Kosovo.

Through a special press statement, the Government condemns the murder of the municipal advisor at the Municipality of the northern Mitrovica, Dimitrije Janicijevic, elected by the people in the last municipal elections held for the first time also in the northern part of Kosovo.

“This murder is an appalling and coward act and the citizens and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo condemn it. It is a direct attack against the will of the people of Mitrovica north and against the establishment of the rule of law and the legitimate institutions in that part of the territory of Kosovo”, dhe Government says.

The Government calls on the competent bodies to take all the measures to bring the perpetrators of this murder to justice and to get the deserved punishment.  /ibna
