Tirana NOA.al – The diplomatic body, accredited in Tirana, reacted today, a few minutes before the start of plenary session, about the replacement of a member of  Central Commission of Elections.

U.S. Ambassador, Alexander Arvizu, said that "KQZ has the primary responsibility for conducting the elections of 23 June.

KQZ is set up and mandated, properly and legally.

It is responsible for the conduct of elections and as such, it is vital that the independence of this institution, being respected. KQZ should be free, from any interference by any individual, nstitution, and this includes also the Parliament of Albania".

Further, Arvizu added: "There is no question that when LSI decided to withdraws from the ruling coalition and to enters into a coalition with the Socialist Party, it brought some changed circumstances, including in the 89 KZAZ-s.

When I speak about the changed circumstances, I mean exactly, these changed circumstances.

But the position of U.S.A, is that KQZ, as currently is constructed, has not only the capacity, but also the responsibility to address the issues arising from the administration of elections.

And that certainly includes, although is not limited only to the composition of the 89 KZAZ-s. In other words, the structure exists….
