
Prime Minister Sali Berisha inaugurated today afternoon the opening of Ruzhdie- Margelliç new road segment, in Fier region. It’s a 120 million lekë investment in the road that links Ruzhdie commune with Patos municipality.
The opening of the 3.7 km long and 5 meters wide modern road paves the way to normal transportation of people and goods being useful to 5 thousand local inhabitants and 6 villages.
The area is well-known for its agricultural output, olive-growing, viticulture, animal husbandry as well as production of the olive oil and the new road is going to facilitate the transportation of these products toward the markets of Patosi, Fieri and Lushnja.
There are already built 10 km of road in Ruzhdie commune and work is underway for building of 9-grade school; while building of the waterworks in Ruzhdie, Siqet and Gjinoqar villages is going to start soon.
During the recent years investment in Fier region amounts to more than 620 million Euros and it’s used in building 75 waterworks, 91 schools and 64 clinics.
In regard to road infrastructure, there are built about 500 km national and rural roads of 280 million Euros worth. Meanwhile, works will kick off on building a 21-kilometre bypass in the city of Fier at an estimated cost of 38 million Euros.
Investment in energy field is 284 million Euros, while in agriculture 7.5 million Euros.
PM Berisha greeted the local people gathered on this occasion and appraised their hardworking spirit, dedication to democracy values, and the determination to transform Ruzhdie and the surroundings more and more every year.
The prime minister pledged the government will finance every project so that their commune can compare to every quarter in the city in regard to road network, water supply system, schools and clinics. a.b/noa.al
