Information on the work done to confront the civil emergency resulting from heavy snow falls. Dt.14.02.2012 Allow me to inform you about the work done by the structures engaged to confront the civil emergency situation caused from heavy snow falls in the region of Shkodër, Kukës, Dibër, Korçë and Librazhd. As you know, the main priorities to confront this civil emergency are to keep open road axes and to find solution to emergent problems such as food supply and health emergencies. Based on the information of the National Operational Center the operations have continued during this day to remove the snow from roads and to keep national road axes open. The situation on the national axes is as follows: The highway, Nation Road, Tiranë-Milot-Rrëshen-Kukës-Morinë, can be passed, in some segments with difficulty. National road axe Tiranë- Shkodër-Hani Hotit, can be passed with dificulty. National road axe Tiranë-Shkodër-Muriqan, can be passed. National road axe Tiranë-Milot –Ulëz, can be passed without difficulty. Ulëza-Burrel- Bulqizë-Peshkopi can be passed with dificulty and using chains. National axe Tiranë-Elbasan-Korçë-Kapshticë can be passed without difficulty. Since today there was a slight improvement of the weather conditions, the operations to distribute aids from the air by helicopters of the Armed Forces started. There have been performed flights and until the present there have been sent 200 food aid packaged in Pukë and Tropojë. While returning from the operation, one of the helicopters of the Armed Forces took four persons blocked in Malzi, Commune Fierzë. General Directorate of State Reserves is actually sending to the prefecture of Shkoder about 500 packages with food. 25 vehicles of the Armed Forces went today to be deployed in Kukës to execute the operations determined by the emergency staff and inter – agency committee. Helicopters of the Ministry of Health have conducted today four flights for medical emergencies, especially in Rrëshen, Vermosh, Pukë and Kala e Dodës and will perform one intervention for transport in Tropojë. We recall once again that the monitoring and communication is performed by heads of communes with contact points in every prefecture staff and with the central staff of civil emergencies on the phone numbers: 2233106, 2233090 and 0694110198.
